Dear BAHS Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to inform you of a major change that will be taking place related to the daily schedule for the remainder of the year at Bel Air High School. As a result of the Harford County Board of Education policy requiring attendance calls to go out at 9:30 am each day as well as the unexpected reduction in clerical staff this year, our current attendance procedure will change. Starting April 23, 2019 and continuing throughout the remainder of the year, students’ homeroom will start at 7:27 am. First period will follow Homeroom instead of preceding it. Please understand, students must be in Homeroom by the 7:27 am bell as this is the start of the school day. After 7:27 am, students will need to report to the Main Office to sign in late.  Students may not enter Homeroom after 7:27am without a pass from the Main Office.

We will communicate this change to students by announcements during each class, as well as Alert Now calls going home as a reminder. Administration will also be in the halls to remind students during the first week of the change.

Thank you for talking to your students about these necessary changes.
