As a service to parents and guardians who contact content offices seeking a tutor to assist their children, Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) content supervisors have compiled lists of individuals interested in tutoring.
Tutors on these lists are present and former employees of the school system.
In response to your recent request, the names, emails, and telephone numbers of several individuals who might be interested in tutoring are attached. Please be aware of the following guidelines for providing names of tutors to those requesting this information.
- It is the responsibility of parents to interview the tutor to determine if he or she will meet their needs.
- Harford County Public Schools assumes no responsibility for private tutoring arrangements and does not establish or recommend fees for such tutoring. Arrangements for tutoring and payment are solely the responsibility of the parent and tutor.
- Teachers shall not provide private, fee-based tutoring for students who attend the school in which they currently teach, as this could create a conflict of interest.
- Harford County Public Schools does not verify any information related to the academic preparation or work experience of prospective tutors. HCPS does not conduct criminal background checks or fingerprinting of former employees who are listed as prospective tutors. Tutors, while acting in the capacity of tutor, are in no way employed by or otherwise acting as the agent of the Board of Education of Harford County.
